Happy New Year!

I would like to start out 2011 with a brand spankin new blog post, and a new attitude. These last few months have been so incredibly busy that it's been difficult to just take a step back and breathe. Now, for a moment, I can re-gather my thoughts and put things into perspective a little bit. It's easy for me to say that last year was wonderful. There were some pivotal things that happened in my life, personally and business-wise. Not all good, but not all bad either. Things that hit us, and then you learn and grow from. What I can tell you all that I've learned, is to take things as they come. I promised myself I wouldn't make any New Years resolutions this year (simply because I'm the worst resolution keeper EVER), but there is one that I'd really like to try and keep. That would simply be to not be anyone else's second choice. Does that make sense? Maybe just think about it... see what it means to you. Maybe you can keep that and use it too...lol.

In any case, one thing I am certain of, is that I want to be more aware and grateful for the blessings in my life. Being a photographer, that's really easy to do. Beauty is everywhere. My chosen area of work is portraiture, and that's simple because I think people, in their happiness, sadness, uncertainty... all of it... is just gorgeous. Every day, I strive to be better at what I do. These people I'm about to showcase in this post, make that something that is easy for me to keep focus of.

This year, over the holidays, I had the extraordinary pleasure to photograph two families of friends I hold so near to my heart. They are both other photographers, and they are both beautiful and strong, both inside and out. Amy and Angie, I love both of you guys so much. Thanks for giving me the honor to capture your families this year. I look forward to many, many more years of friendship with you both.
