When I look at them, I see the love between the four of us. My youngest can't look at the camera... he just can't. I don't know why. Nicholas, my oldest, is the jokester. And Paul, of course, is just our rock. Handsome, caring and wonderful. Seeing all of us together I know I'm the luckiest woman alive. I know I really am.

Dykan Family 2011- (yeah... that's me)
Let it be known that I'm a vain girl. Red hair, freckles and all.. I kinda secretly love to have my picture made. Then I do, and I always feel like a cow. Or an elephant. Maybe a rhino. In any case- something very LARGE. Let's face it- I'm not a little girl. I don't consider myself a big humungo girl, but I've always struggled with my weight. It's that time of year again for family photos. I've told myself that we WILL be doing family photos, come Hades or high water. Ashley Mauldin, one of my studio helpers (and a wonderful photographer) took time out of her busy schedule tonight to capture our family. While I know I'm a long way from my weight loss goal, I'm happy to have these pictures to look back on as I continue my journey. Right now, I'm gonna say it for the whole world to see. I'm a full 187. Yes, I said ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SEVEN POUNDS. That's me. By the time this is done, I'm hoping to be a ripe 140. I'm hoping that since I've put it out there for the world to know... I won't give up. Sheer embarrassment over my weight should make that enough, right? So, despite the large version of me, I do pretty much love these family photos. Thanks Ash. :)
