Sew Charming

So, this has gotta be some kind of record. TWO posts in one day! Whodathunkit? Anyway, In a million years I never thought I would like the art of sewing. I surprised myself. It turns out I do. I love pretty things- and nothing's prettier than a collection of coordinating fabric made into something practical, right? Right. A couple weeks ago my BFF Paula and I took on the challenge of making a purse. I had some leftover fabric, so I had to take it a step further... and of course I had to make the coordinating Ipod/phone case. It was a bit of a challenge, since I didn't have a pattern. After a few choice words to the sewing machine and two scrapped drafts, I love my little case (though I still think I'll do it differently next time... perhaps I'll even use the GOOGLE tool to find a pattern...lol). For now, though, this'll do. Paula moved on to making the cutest aprons that have ever existed. I'm really gonna have to make one of those too. At this rate, I'll be a master seamstress in no time, right? fingers crossed***

A Touch of Grace

That's just what this little girl is- a "touch". At not even 2 pounds, this little gal stole my heart. Gracie is her name. She is my best friend Paula's newest addition to her family. These pictures are meant to be a surprise for her little girl, Kaylee. So, if you know Kaylee...sssshhhhh. Don't tell her. But, I simply HAD to share. I was amazed at how well this little one behaved for the pictures. She just sat and posed like a little princess.
