I Never Promised You a Rose Garden

Sometimes life sucks. Especially when you're about 18 months old, your Mom and Dad are begging you to smile- okay- not exactly smile- but definitely not cry and have an all in all meltdown in front of this strange lady. The strange lady, by the way, is having a really bad hair day. And she has this black box thing attached to her and keeps snapping it at me. She's making funny faces and noises, and keeps getting down on the ground. Let's face it- this chic is WEIRD. I DO NOT want to smile. I DO NOT like being out in this field. Take me home- and I mean NOW.

Oh wait... hang on... what's that? Something big and round- and on a stick? Well, that can't be bad. Anything that has a built in stick... let's give that a try. Come here strange bad-hair lady and let me have that....

Agh. That's better. Oh! Oh! Oh!! I know those people... that's my Mommy and Daddy...

Well... I guess that wasn't so bad after all....

This Just In- Mother's Day Special!!

So, I couldn't let Mother's Day come and go without offering some super duper special. After all, I'm a mom- and I can't think of what better gift to receive than a photo session for my family. It occurred to me last week that my husband, children and I have NEVER had a family photo session! 13 years of marriage, a 10 year old and 8 year old- and there are NO family photos of us. How sad is that?

Here's the deal. You receive a full photo session with up to 4 people (and if you bring a 5th- well, that's ok too), 10 edited images on a CD (edited at least 3 ways- and that's a MINIMUM of 10 images. I could get crazy and do like 60 or so...), 2 4x6's, 1 8x10 and a set of 8 wallets. The special price for Mother's Day is $175 (seriously- that's regularly like over $300 worth of stuff!!). Here's the catch- the ONLY catch- you MUST book your session between May 1st and June 26th. That's it! So, Dudes and Dudettes... call me and get it booked!

And Happy Mother's Day!!! (Mother's Day is actually Sunday, May 9th- just in case you were wondering...hehe)

Rip Your Heart Out

When I arrived at the train station to photograph an engaged couple and their adorable children (whom I hadn't previously met), I had NO clue what I was in for. Don't you just love it when things come together so much better than you could have ever planned? The couple, Jenny and David, were so adorable, and so clearly in love that it was like something out of a romance novel. Their sweet-as-pie little boys were like two amazing little accessories that you could just pick up and put in your pocket. I fell in love with all of them pretty much instantly. It was really difficult to pick some favorites to share, there really were just SO many. I love it when sessions go like this.

Oh, and doesn't she look like a sexier Tina Fey? hehe... eat your heart out Tina. ;)

Purple Passion

A couple weeks back I had the craziest weekend. In fact, it was Easter weekend. Back to back shoots nearly every day. Which was fine- cuz you guys know me and my itchy trigger finger. With six shoots that weekend, you can imagine how crazy it must have been. However, when I hit the scene to take pictures of this particular family, I just felt my heart leap. Not only did they all LOOK amazing, but they were just so much fun to work with. They are a blended family who clearly all love each other to pieces. And, the purple theme really kinda rocked. Kudos to the Hederer family. You guys made my weekend.

Little Blue Flowers

One of the glorious things about springtime in Texas is the arrival of these little blue gems, which just happen to be the state flower- Bluebonnets! They are so cute, and just randomly planted along the sides of roads and highways here in the Lone Star State. This week I had the opportunity to photograph an extremely gorgeous little girl among them. She was a little wary of the camera, but seemed to lighten up once I put on the zoom and just followed her from a distance. Here are a few of my favorite shots of the day.
